Stochasticity

When I work without imposing too many constraints, unexpected possibilities begin to emerge. The resulting images often contain forms and patterns that I had not anticipated, as the mind begins to make connections and find meaning within the chaos.

This process of finding order in randomness is central to the work. We instinctively look for patterns and familiar forms, often finding meaning where none was intended.

There is an element of randomness at the heart of these photographs. While I can control the circumstances in which an image is made, I cannot fully determine what will emerge from them. It is this tension between intention and chance that drives the work.
